Gluco Terms of Use and Sale

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Gluco application, the getgluco.app website, and associated services.

By creating an account or using Gluco, you accept these Terms of Use. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use Gluco.

1. Purpose of Gluco

Gluco is an application intended to help estimate carbohydrates in meals, track certain meals, and simplify certain everyday calculations.

Gluco may provide estimates based on information entered by the user, a photo, a product scan, dictation, food databases, or analysis algorithms.

The results displayed by Gluco are indicative estimates only. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or incorrect.

2. Gluco does not replace a healthcare professional

Gluco does not provide medical diagnosis, medical prescription, personalized medical recommendation, or therapeutic decision.

Gluco does not replace, under any circumstances:

  • a doctor;
  • a healthcare specialist;
  • a nurse;
  • a pharmacist;
  • a dietitian;
  • a medical prescription;
  • medical advice;
  • a certified medical device;
  • a blood glucose measuring system;
  • an insulin pump;
  • a closed-loop or automated insulin delivery system.

Any decision concerning your health, treatment, diet, blood glucose, or insulin must be made with a qualified healthcare professional.

3. Carbohydrate estimates

The carbohydrate estimates provided by Gluco may vary depending on many factors, including:

  • photo quality;
  • the actual quantity of food;
  • meal preparation;
  • the recipe;
  • the product brand;
  • image recognition errors;
  • entry or dictation errors;
  • data from third-party food databases;
  • differences between theoretical and actual nutritional values.

The user must always verify detected foods, quantities, nutritional values, and displayed carbohydrates before using them.

Gluco does not guarantee the accuracy of displayed carbohydrates.

4. Insulin-related references

When Gluco displays a numerical reference related to insulin, it is provided for information only.

This reference never constitutes a prescription, medical recommendation, injection instruction, or dose to be followed automatically.

The user must never use Gluco as the sole basis for deciding on an insulin injection.

Before any injection, the user must always verify for themselves, including:

  • current blood glucose;
  • glucose trend;
  • active insulin;
  • insulin-to-carbohydrate ratio;
  • correction factor;
  • glucose target;
  • physical condition;
  • recent or planned activity;
  • the actual contents of the meal;
  • instructions given by their healthcare professional.

Ratios, correction factors, glucose targets, and personal settings must be defined, validated, and monitored with a healthcare professional.

The user remains solely responsible for their therapeutic decisions and any insulin injection performed.

5. Emergency situations

Gluco must not be used in a medical emergency.

In case of doubt, discomfort, unusual symptoms, hypoglycemia, significant hyperglycemia, vomiting, ketones, loss of consciousness, or any worrying situation, you must immediately contact a healthcare professional, emergency services, or the emergency number applicable in your country.

Gluco does not monitor your health in real time and cannot guarantee detection of a dangerous situation.

6. User responsibility

The user agrees to use Gluco with caution and judgment.

The user acknowledges that:

  • displayed results may be inaccurate;
  • results and references must never be followed automatically;
  • they must always verify information before making a decision;
  • they must follow the recommendations of their healthcare professional;
  • they remain responsible for decisions relating to their diet, blood glucose, and insulin.

The user must not use Gluco if they are not able to understand, verify, and interpret the displayed information.

7. Prohibited use

It is prohibited to use Gluco:

  • as a substitute for medical advice;
  • as the sole tool for deciding on an insulin dose;
  • as an automated decision-making or insulin delivery system;
  • to handle a medical emergency;
  • to modify treatment without medical advice;
  • to advise, diagnose, or treat another person without medical qualification;
  • if the displayed results are not understood.

8. No medical warranty

Gluco is provided as is.

We do not guarantee that:

  • estimates will be accurate;
  • foods will be correctly detected;
  • quantities will be correctly assessed;
  • nutritional values will always be correct;
  • calculations will be adapted to your personal situation;
  • the application will be available without interruption;
  • the application will be free of technical errors.

The user accepts that any use of Gluco is at their own responsibility.

9. Data sources and third-party services

Gluco may use or display data from third-party sources, including food databases, analysis services, APIs, or information entered by users.

This data may contain errors, be incomplete, or not be up to date.

Gluco does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data from third-party services.

Certain sources or references may include OpenFoodFacts, public health recommendations, or other nutritional databases.

10. User account

The user is responsible for the accuracy of the information entered in their account.

The user must keep their personal information, calculation settings, and preferences up to date.

The user is responsible for the confidentiality of their account and access to their device.

Any use made from the user's account is deemed to have been made by the user, unless proven otherwise.

11. Subscriptions, prices and payments

Some Gluco features are paid features available through a monthly or annual subscription. The total price, billing frequency, applicable taxes and main features of the offer are displayed before payment is confirmed.

Subscriptions may be purchased through Apple's App Store, Google Play, or a Gluco web payment link operated with RevenueCat Billing. For web purchases, payments are securely processed by Stripe. Gluco does not have access to full payment-card details.

Unless otherwise stated before payment, consumer prices include applicable taxes. Where required by regulations or the customer's country, the tax-exclusive breakdown and VAT or other applicable taxes are displayed before confirmation and on the payment receipt.

Every subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period until cancelled. By confirming payment, the user authorizes the stated price to be charged at each renewal. An invoice or receipt is sent to the email address provided at purchase.

A subscription purchased through Apple or Google Play can be cancelled in the relevant Apple or Google account settings, according to that platform's rules.

A web subscription can be cancelled free of charge in Gluco via Profile > Subscription > Manage my Pro subscription, or through the RevenueCat customer portal accessible from confirmation and renewal emails. Cancellation prevents the next renewal. Unless a refund is issued or the law provides otherwise, access remains active until the end of the period already paid for.

Refund requests for purchases made through Apple or Google Play are handled under the relevant platform's rules. For web purchases, users can contact contact@getgluco.app.

Where consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal, they may exercise it within fourteen days of entering into the web subscription by sending a clear request to contact@getgluco.app. This right is without prejudice to any exception or mandatory rule under applicable law.

12. Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, available at:

By using Gluco, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.

13. Service availability

We make our best efforts to keep Gluco available, but we do not guarantee continuous, permanent, or error-free access.

Access to Gluco may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, technical incidents, network outages, hosting issues, third-party service changes, or any other reason.

Gluco cannot be held responsible for temporary or permanent unavailability of the service.

14. Service changes

We may modify, suspend, or remove all or part of Gluco's features at any time, including to improve the service, correct errors, comply with a legal obligation, or limit a risk.

Certain features may evolve, be renamed, restricted, or removed.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Gluco, its publisher, officers, employees, contractors, and partners shall not be held liable for direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the application.

This includes, without limitation:

  • an incorrect carbohydrate estimate;
  • an incorrect insulin-related reference;
  • an input error;
  • misinterpretation of results;
  • a medical or therapeutic decision made by the user;
  • hypoglycemia;
  • hyperglycemia;
  • a medical complication;
  • data loss;
  • service unavailability;
  • an error from a third-party service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

16. Medical responsibility

The user expressly acknowledges that Gluco is not their healthcare professional and does not know their full medical situation.

The user acknowledges that their health condition may depend on many factors that Gluco cannot know or correctly interpret.

Any decision relating to an insulin injection, glucose correction, dietary adjustment, or treatment modification is solely the responsibility of the user and their healthcare professional.

17. Minors

Gluco must not be used by a minor without the authorization and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

The parent or legal guardian is responsible for the minor's use of Gluco.

18. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these Terms of Use at any time.

In the event of a significant change, we may inform users by any appropriate means, including in the application or by email.

Continued use of Gluco after modification constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

19. Termination and account closure

You may stop using Gluco at any time. Deleting the Gluco app or account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google Play. The subscription must be cancelled separately as described in section 11.

For web subscriptions, the management feature in the app and the RevenueCat customer portal allow online cancellation. If you have difficulty accessing them, you can write to contact@getgluco.app so that your request can be handled.

We may suspend or delete access to Gluco in the event of a violation of these Terms, abusive use, security risk, fraud, or legal obligation.

20. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law, unless mandatory legal provisions state otherwise.

In the event of a dispute, the parties will first seek an amicable solution.

Failing amicable resolution, the dispute will be submitted to the competent courts in accordance with applicable rules.

21. Publisher and contact

Gluco is published by BRINGER ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS, a French single-shareholder simplified joint-stock company with capital of EUR 1,000, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 888 401 429, with its registered office at 15 rue des Halles, 75001 Paris, France.
